The charging of nickel-based batteries
Von laptop, 04:45The reliability and longevity of a battery depends largely on the quality of the charger. The battery chargers are often given low priority, especially for consumer products. In this paper we treat this as an important accessory and charger in a certain sense as07b42 as protectors of the Dell Inspiron 1501 battery. We consider various charging methods in terms of better performance of nickel-based batteries. (A similar study will focus on lithium and lead as a base).
A battery should always remain cool during charging because high temperatures shorten the life expectancy of the DELL Studio 1537 battery. Some temperature rise in nickel-based batteries can not be avoided. The time during which a battery is exposed to higher temperatures should remain short. The temperature rise occurs in the second half of the charge cycle. The battery should be at room temperature, Dell Inspiron 1520 battery is when it is in trickle charge. If the temperature is higher than room temperature, and this for a few hours and in the 'Ready' mode, the charger did not work properly. In this case, the battery once charged, will be removed from the charger.
A lithium battery should never become warm during charging. If this is the case, either the Dell Studio 1737 battery or the charger is defective. From further use should be avoided.
Chargers for nickel-based batteries can be divided into three categories:
Slow charger --- Also known as 'overnight charger'. Slowly, the charger maintains a fixed charge of about 0.1C * (one-tenth of the capacity), and for as long as the DELL Latitude D820 Battery is connected to the charger. The charging time is about 14 to 16 hours. Slow chargers for wireless phones, portable CD player or other consumer goods.
--- A normal charger normal charger is in a middle range, both in terms of charging time and also by price. The charging time is 3 to 6 hours. The charger switches to trickle charge when charging is complete. Chargers are used for wireless phones, laptops and video cameras.
Quick charger --- Built for nickel-based batteries, charges a quick charger, a Dell Vostro 1510 battery in 1 hour. Fast charging is preferred because it reduces the formation of large crystals (memory effect). A reliable detection of full charge is important. If the battery is fully charged, the charger will stop the charging process and switches to trickle charge. Fast chargers are used in industry as well as batteries for radios, medical equipment and tools.
Brand new nickel-based DELL Studio XPS 1640 battery should be formatted before first use with a 24-hour slow charge. The slow charge brings all cells in an identical state of charge, what is necessary, since the cells may have a different self-discharge. A slow charge is distributed evenly and the electrolyte, which corrects dry spots on the separator, which can be caused by the action of gravity during storage.
